Filmmaker Keeley Gould —known for producing music videos for artists including Beyoncé and Lady Gaga— captures an exhilarating display of fast feet in this portrait of a masked and colorful Ivorian dancer.

"Zaouli is a traditional dance of the Guro people of Manfla in the Ivory Coast," says Gould of the shamanistic dance, always performed by men. "From the moment I first saw the dance—a celebration of women—I was captivated. I wanted to capture that energy in a contemporary way."
